50 ft sailing yacht

The main idea was to create an groundbreaking modern design, including innovative materials, shapes and features brandnew for the open market of serial production.
The forecabin of a cruising 50 feet sailing yacht was the base for Egg and Dart’s design-study for a Shipyard as client. The challenge was, to create an economic, practicable and efficient design for the serie up to semi- and custom-built interiors. Depending on the customers budgets and style there are three concepts to select, "Race-Cruiser- Sport", "Race-Cruiser-Noble" and "Cruiser-Classic ", differing in materials, fabrics, colours, surfaces and features.
The bed as one main part of the cabin, is an exemple for innovation and functionality in furniture design.
Equipped with a lot of space and storage, easy to reach and to handle with hatches, the whole base for the bed is covered with foamed fabric (or high class foamed leather) it is soft an comfortable to sit and and even safe for racing, any needless sofas are replaced by a very simple but stylish detail. The furnitures are flexible to furnish, the atmosphere is warm and cosy or cool and racy depending on the style of the customer.
